Value Education: |
| |
The value education course strengthens
the moral sense and raises value consciousness.
The topics are drawn from religious, psychological
and social values. Self-esteem, Positive Mental
Attitude, Spirituality, Sexuality, HIV/AIDS,
Substance Abuse, Healthy Friendship, Relationship
with Parents, Family Values and Life Skills
are some of the topics to name a few. The teachers
employ group discussions, brain storming, sharing
of experiences, panel discussions, creative
writing, role play, games, case study, audio
visual aids, guest lectures, counselling, newspaper
clippings, debates, assignments, advertisements,
magazine clippings, stories, parables, skits,
work experience, survey, slogan writing, field
trips, tree planting, gardening, etc to impart
these values and help students internalise the
same. The holistic education programme also
tries to engender transformation in the individual
and make him/her a catalyst for the same by
developing personal, interpersonal and societal
skills. |

Counselling: |
| |
The counselling center helps
all our students in the holistic development
of their personality by imparting right values
and attitudes towards oneself and the society
at large. It constantly monitors educational
performance, identifies problems, if any, facilitates
remedial systems to overcome inadequate motivational
factors and helps to improve self-esteem and
confidence. Students can approach the counsellor
for solace amidst any problem. The center also
concentrates on students who do not perform
well in their exams and are irregular for class.

Registration, Attendance
and Results |
| |
The attendance and academic improvement
of each student is periodically fed into the
college website. Each student will be assigned
a password and login number. Using these, parents
can retrieve the details of their wards on a
regular basis through out the academic year.

Application forms: |
| |
|
|
|

Application Forms for
Admissions: will be available in the
College Office from the first week of May till
the announcement of the Karnataka State SSLC
results. Students are instructed to collect
the application forms in person. Application
forms will not be available on the Internet.
Students should submit the duly filled-in
application forms within two days of the announcement
of SSCL, CBSE, and ICSE results respectively.

Common Entrance Test Forms:
CET forms will be available at the college office
as per the regulations of the CET cell. |

Bonafide certificate, Study Certificate,
Character Certificate, Date of Birth Certificate,
Transfer Certificate, No Objection Certificate,
No Due Certificate: The above mentioned
certificates can be obtained by filling in an
application form available at the college office
indicating the certificates required at the payment
of a specific fee. The certificates can be collected
one day after the applications have been submitted.

Additional programmes |

Excel
Excel is a personality development programme for
the commerce students wherein students are trained
on essential skills. Programmes on life skills
and training for competitive examination is imparted
through this programme. The programme prepares
the students to handle personal interviews, group
discussions and entrance examinations conducted
for under graduate courses. |

Entrance Coaching
The Entrance coaching is a training programme
for Science students, which helps them to prepare
better for Common Entrance Test and other competitive
examinations for admissions in professional courses.
Students securing above 65% marks are eligible
for the entrance coaching programme. The course
is exclusively for Christ Junior College students.
Admissions are made on first come first serve
basis. |

Olympiad
Olympiad is a set of examinations conducted
at the regional, national and at the international
level by the Human Resources Development Ministry
in association with Institute of Fundamental Research
at Homi Baba Center for Science Education to encourage
students. The Olympiad is conducted for all core
subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and
Biology). Meritorious students receive cash prizes,
certificates and scholarships from the central
government to help aid and foster the spirit of
scientific enquiry. |

Certificate course in computer assembling
and troubleshooting
A 50 hour Certificate course in computer assembling
and troubleshooting is conducted every year for
the electronics students of Christ Junior College
. Classes for these courses are conducted by the
Department of Electronics. |

Remedial programme
Students scoring below 35%marks are required
to attend special class conducted by the respective
departments. These classes help students to improve
their understanding of concepts, problems, and
help them get over their learning disabilities |

Students. The modules of this training are Communication

As part of its goal to provide holistic development
to its students, Christ Junior College has recently
included "So My Intellect Lifts Evenly"
(SMILE) , a theatre course aimed at personality
development. The workshop is conducted by Mr.
Ratan Thakur Grant, a renowned theatre person
who has acted in several of his own productions,
as well as many movies. The Program seeks to improve
the participants' personality by building confidence,
self-esteem and sharpening their concentration
skills. The workshop has enabled even the most
reticent of students to discover and express their
hidden talents. |
