The Library located on the
second floor offers a wide range of academic resources to
the user community such as books, periodicals, back volumes,
CDs/DVDs, question banks, news papers. A total of 13,520 books, 34 magazines and 324 CDs are part of the collection of the library. The Internet facility
available in the library gives the students unlimited free
access to various academic resources available on the net.
LIBRARY TIMINGS
The CJC Library & Internet Lab is open all six days of the
week and is closed only on sundays and other public holidays.

GENERAL
INSTRUCTIONS
- Students are required to carry their Identity Cards
(ID card), while visiting the library. Without the Identity
Card, they are not allowed to refer/borrow books or periodicals.
- Books and periodicals must not be carried out of the
library without producing the same for entry in the library
records. Any individual violating the rule will have to
face a disciplinary action.
- It is necessary to maintain discipline in the library.
Students should refrain from gossiping, sleeping, relaxing
and eating. The reading hall must be used for reference
and consultation of resource materials.
- Eatables and Electronic gadgets are not allowed in the
library.
- Library resources are limited; therefore, users should
not damage/mutilate/tear pages of the resources. While
borrowing, the condition of the materials must be noted.
Personal liability for replacement shall be imposed.
- Personal books are not allowed inside the Reference/Stack
Section.
- The arrangement of books in the shelves must not be
disturbed. After reference, users must replace the books/magazines
in their place
- Misplacement or hiding of books to misguide other users
is strictly prohibited. Students should avoid pulling
down several books at a time from the shelves.
- Books will not be issued temporarily either for classroom
reading/reference or for reading outside the Library.
- Request for changing the issued book on the same day
will not be entertained as it creates unnecessary administrative
hassles.
- Students should refrain from unnecessary arguments with
the staff. They should meet the Librarian to sort out
the problem.
- Persistent defaulters with indiscipline will not be
allowed to access Library services.
RULES & REGULATIONS
- Students
- Students can borrow two books at a time for 7 days
- Extension of the period of loan for another 7 days
is possible if the book is brought to the library or the
request is communicated prior to the due date of return,
provided there is no demand for the issued item from other
students before or on the due date stamped
- Extension of the period of loan for overdue items is
not allowed
- Issue of Books
- In order to borrow a book, demand slips are to be
filled and submitted in the Library between 9.00 am
and 1.00 pm
- Issue of books:
- Week days 3.00 to 4.30 pm
- Saturdays: 12.00 to 1.00 pm
- Return and Renewal of books only between 9.00 am
to 1.00 pm

Penalty for Overdue Books
- The penalty for the late return of the books is fixed
at Rs.5/- for each book per day.
- The amount will be calculated taking into account
all days following the due date, up to and including
the actual date of return. Sundays and holidays are
also included in the calculation of penalty.
- The amount should be paid in the College Office.
- Reference Books
- Reference books are to be referred to inside the
Library.
- Under no circumstances, reference books will be issued
temporarily either for classroom reading/reference or
for reading outside the library
- Reference books may be taken for photocopy after taking
due approval of the Librarian or the staff in-charge
of Reference section.
- Students are advised not to leave reference books
with the photocopier.
- Lost/Damaged Library Resources
- A student, who loses any document borrowed from the
Library will be responsible for a full face-value reimbursement
of the document and will have his/her Library privileges
suspended.
- If the document is no longer available or out of
print, the student will have to pay double the value
of the lost material and will also have his/her Library
privileges suspended.
- The money should be paid within thirty days
.
- No Due Clearance
- Students are to obtain No Due Clearance from the
Library before the beginning of Promotional/Board examination.
- The Library will not issue NO DUE CLEARANCE for the
following:
- Unpaid Library fine
- Library Book due
- Once No Due Clearance is issued, a student cannot
borrow any book further. However, he/she may take books
for reference
INTERNET LAB
- Working Hours General Timings
- Bags are to be kept inside the shelves provided in
the Internet Lab.
- Wallets, money, laptops, keys and other valuables that
are kept in the bag are at the sole responsibility of
the student. The college
is not responsible for the loss of any valuables.
- Use of e-mail by the students is not permitted beyond
the stipulated time.
- Identity cards must be produced before entering the
Internet Lab.
- Playing computer games is strictly prohibited.
- Internet facility can be availed by a student for 15
minutes and can continue if another student does not want
to avail the service.
- Accessing pornographic sites in the Internet
Lab is strictly prohibited. Students flouting
this rule will be denied access to Internet facility. Browsing of educational
sites only are allowed.
- Students are hereby advised to use the Internet Lab
for learning rather than for sending mails and chatting [both
oral and mail].
- Students are advised to follow instructions given by
the Computer Instructor when handling the computers and
take the Instructor's help in case of system or internet
malfunctioning.

LIBRARY ETIQUETTE FOR STUDENTS
- Students should enter the Library in a single line
and the student representatives should report to the Librarian
during free hour.
- Whenever students enter the Library, they must maintain
silence.
- After taking their seats, they are allowed to take
Reference Books/News Papers/Magazines etc. The attendance
will be taken by the class representative.
- Students should return Reference Books/Magazines/Newspapers
5 minutes before the bell rings.
- Whenever students come to Library, they should sit
alternatively by leaving one chair vacant and it will
be strictly followed for disciplinary purpose.
- Any violation of the above rule will be dealt with sternly,
which may eventually lead to two hours of detention after
3.00 pm
