Graduation Day is an important
event in a student's life because it is the culmination of
a phase of their academic achievement. Christ Junior College
held the annual Graduation Day today, 9January 2010, The entire
Graduation day ceremony was carried out with solemnity, yet
there was something charming that made students reflect upon
their future and set goals about what they expect in the future.
Fr Jose C.C, Principal, Christ Junior College,
in his Graduation day message, urged the students to "break
barriers and make the world happy ".
His message on making records in the academic field was received
gladly, by the graduating class .The Guest of Honour for the
event was Fr. Dr. Augustine Thottakkara, Chancellor, Christ
University and Rector of Dharmaram College. Fr.
Augustine in his keynote address, pointed out that a systematic
work culture would take the students a long way.
He exhorted the students to pursue academics with a scientific
temper and to impart their knowledge to others in society.
Mr. Xavier Louis D'souza, who represented the class teachers,
reached out to the students with a simple message of a Guru's
love to his wards and shared his wisdom on how to remain happy
in life. Mr. Jugnu Oberoi, alumnus
of Christ College, reminded the students to express their
gratitude to the people in their lives who had helped them
come this far in life.
The Oath taking ceremony by the graduating
class and the representative students of the junior class
with the flame of knowledge in their hands was not just a
show of solidarity to the Alma Mater but was also symbolic
of the continuum of the legacy of education. The focus of
our baccalaureate ceremony was to hand over the course completion
certificates to the students, besides congratulating them
on working hard to achieve his/ her purpose.
A nostalgic charm was rendered to the day
when the valedictorians- chosen to represent the three streams
and the evening college- took the stage for their valedictory
expressions. A thanks giving and a farewell song was penned
and tuned especially for the occasion and the college choir
rendered it melodiously.
Our Graduation day was attended by parents,
well-wishers, friends and faculty members to support and cheer
the students. Our formal Graduation day programme culminated
in the Graduation lunch hosted by the college.
