Dr. D. Hemachandra Sagar,
MLA called upon all christites to contribute to nation building
by transforming all the positive experiences and values that
they have acquired into practice at the College Day of Christ
Junior College. On the day on which the college celebrates
its being, he asked them to dream big, achieve it, and make
their college, teachers and parents proud. The message was
‘aim for ten, focus on three, and get the best one.’
While presenting the annual report, Dr. Fr.
Jose C.C., the Principal, took the audience on a journey of
the makings of a caring learning ecosystem at Christ Junior
College. He recounted all the measures that the institution
undertook to build the cognitive, personal and interpersonal
skills through different kinds of functional and substantial
training. The focus this year was to create a balanced learning
ecology by stressing the need to instill holistic education.
The highlight of the formal programme was
the felicitation of last year’s II PUC Board Examination
highest scorers. Vijayamba R, the topper in the Social Science
stream in the college and the second highest scorer in the
state, was awarded a gold medal instituted by the college
alumni association in the name of Shri Basant Kumar and Smt
Sarala Birla for being the best achiever. The best National
Cadet Corps cadets, best Centre for Social Action volunteers
and best sportspersons of the year were also recognized.
The formal function was followed by cultural
programmes from all the twenty nine sections of the college.
They were an interesting mix of dance, drama, music and magic
show. All in all this vaudeville was a celebration of the
christite spirit that drives the passion here. |
